Continue to the Doupotang Scenic Area (approx. 1-hour tour), known for its wide cascade and featured in the closing scene of Journey to the West. DAY 3 Guiyang → Fanjing Mountain → Zhenyuan
After breakfast, depart no later than 08:00. Travel approximately 3.5 hours along the optimal route to visit the famous Buddhist mountain — Fanjing Mountain Scenic Area. Enter the national nature reserve and explore the UNESCO “Man and the Biosphere” protection network. Hike through the pristine forest and admire the mountain’s iconic landmark — the Mushroom Rock, where you can freely take photos.
Depending on your physical condition, you may choose to climb Red Cloud Golden Summit (elevation 2,336 meters), named for the red clouds often seen at dawn. The summit rises vertically by hundreds of meters and is divided into two halves, connected by a sky bridge. Each side features a temple: one dedicated to Shakyamuni (the present Buddha), and the other to Maitreya (the future Buddha), symbolizing the transition from the current to the future Buddha.
Alternatively, climb the Old Golden Summit (elevation 2,494 meters), where panoramic views reveal countless uniquely shaped stone forests and rolling mountain ranges, resembling a rippling green ocean. Even the imposing New Golden Summit appears as just a stone step beneath your feet. Fanjing Mountain is like a giant natural oxygen bar — breathe in the fresh, invigorating air, escape the city bustle, and enjoy profound tranquility.
After the tour, drive to visit Zhenyuan Ancient Town (approx. 2-hour tour) and admire its vibrant nightscape. The emerald Wuyang River winds through the town, flanked by ancient buildings glowing under colorful lights—purples, greens, and blues—creating a dreamlike scene. The reflections on the river resemble a vivid, enchanting painting. After the visit, check into your hotel.

The night in Xijiang is unforgettable—the Miao village becomes veiled in mystery as dusk falls. Head to the observation deck with friends to enjoy the night scenery, sip tea by the river, wander through atmospheric riverside bars, or simply relax on the characteristic “beauty leaning rail” benches and gaze at the layers of traditional wooden stilted houses. Enjoy the full day in Xijiang at your leisure. Photography lovers are welcome to book local travel photography services independently.

Named after a seven-arch stone bridge built in 1836 (Daoguang 15th Year), Xiaoqikong is called a “super bonsai” for its concentrated beauty of mountains, water, caves, forests, lakes, and waterfalls. In less than 2 km of canyon, you’ll encounter 68 cascading waterfalls. The Laya Waterfall is exquisitely charming, and its sprays of mist are enchanting. The 600-meter-long Water Forest has tree roots winding through stone, with clear water washing over mossy rocks—walking through it feels like stepping into a fairyland.
Next, visit the Daqikong Scenic Area (approx. 2-hour tour). (Optional: boat ride inside the scenic area at 40 RMB/person, not mandatory and self-paid.) The area features primeval forests, gorges, underground rivers, and lakes. The Tiansheng Bridge, spanning over 100 meters in height and dozens of meters in width, is praised by experts as the “Oriental Arc de Triomphe” sculpted by the forces of nature.
